Ballet class is a structured form of dance training that cultivates both physical and artistic development. In a CoEvolve Ballet Class, students follow the ISTD exam structure, a carefully curated curriculum, starting with fundamental exercises at the barre and progressing to more complex movements in the centre. Ballet students in Pre Primary Ballet and up, are invited to sit ballet exams with an international examiner during mid-late Term 3. These exams happen in house and are a great way for students to reach different milestones in their ballet journey. ISTD ballet is a syllabus that enables dancers at all levels to learn the art form of ballet, but also allows extension to the pathway of becoming a professional ballet dancer.

Jazz
Age Groups: Pre School- 18+ and Adults.
Jazz is an upbeat stylistic genre that encourages students to be expressive, bold and valiant. Our dancers not only have a strong understanding of the fundamental turns, leaps and kicks involved in jazz, but they also learn how to really dance using their whole body.
We cover the NZAMD jazz syllabus where students can complete Rosette Levels, Graded Examinations, be nominated for scholarship awards and complete their Solo Performance Diploma exam. This can lead students to sit teachers papers and become fully qualified dance teachers as they progress into adulthood.
To create a balanced dancer, it’s important that students can comprehend and manipulate choreography at a fast pace. These skills are developed in our open classes. Students learn new choreography each week or two (dependent on the class level), complete technique drills and learn new dance steps.
